Today was the farewell dinner. I love the dresses I got made at the seamstresses. I'm glad I went to another seamstress since the once everyone else went to didn't do the greatest job. We were greeted with drums and live music. We danced and ate well. It was great.
We decided to go back to Aphrodisiac. They wouldn't let half of us in because we had on flip flops. So we went back to the hotel and stood outside. The guys we went to the beach house came to the hotel and we were all standing outside trying to figure out what we were going to do. Armstrong was going to out with us. It was his birthday. I felt like the other guys were trying to play him on the low. Armstrong wasn't wearing nice flashy clothes like the guys in the new cars. I wonder if the guys we were with are Akan? Armstrong is form Bonwire which isn't Akan… at least I don't think it is. There are some ethnic discrimination issues in Ghana. Maybe that had something to do with it. Armstrong decided not to go.
The guys took us to some other bar. The bar was hosting a free style contest. The guy running it sounded American. Like Tamara said, it was like a bad episode of 106 & Park and so many were getting hype. It was horrible. We were laughing out loud. We left and those of us with closed-toed shoes went back to Aphrodisiac. Just as packed as before and again I felt like we left too early. Fun though. Good times.
